FFD’s RESULTS
We are passionate about eradicating poverty and hunger in our lifetime.
Our projects support a variety of rural livelihoods in developing countries, focusing on agriculture, silviculture, agroforestry, aquaculture and apiculture. Results are achieved through training and capacity building, organizational strengthening, improving value chains and improving market connections. The project partners are always Farmers’ Organizations, namely agricultural producer organizations, forest owners’ organizations, cooperatives and cooperative unions.
Our focus is to strengthen the capacities of these member-based farmers’ organisations, which also form an important part of the civil society in rural areas. We have a strong emphasis on downward accountability, participation, representativity, and inclusiveness. Approximately half of our projects support forest-based livelihood systems. Support for gender and vulnerable groups as well as climate sustainability are priorities in all our projects. In recent years we have increasingly invested in results orientation and improving the quality and sustainability of our results.
FFD’s results - A Decade of Impact
Ten years, multiple projects, tens of thousands of farmers capacitated, hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries reached, and finally, all the work to promote inclusive, systemic changes. FFD has facilitated smallholder farmers’ and forest keepers’ resilience, well-being, and strengthened their organizations to continue operating even if our collaboration may end. This has been the story of FFD, and we are glad to continue it.
